I'm not going to give you a blow-by-blow account of the day as my blog posts tend to. I'm going to just put up a few photos instead which don't fully illustrate our day but give an idea.
For a long time, Cambridge, the University city has been one of the main "outlier" places I've been meaning to visit but hadn't gotten around to. Sasha had been during her first year in the UK, but on a dull day - and because she'd gone to Oxford on a sunny day, she preferred Oxford to Cambridge. However I wanted to go, and Sasha wanted to go on a good weather day and see if the weather had sullied her impression of it. So when a good day did come along one Sunday, we went. I'm not going to give you a blow-by-blow account of the day as my blog posts tend to. I'm going to just put up a few photos instead which don't fully illustrate our day but give an idea. We had a lovely day out, it was definitely Ice Cream weather (yes, we had one) and we went for a ride in a punt along the river (leveraging a few operators off of each other to get a lower price) but didn't hire a punt to ourselves - while I was fairly confident I could probably operate the punt, the waterways were bedlam that day! it was a bit like bumper boats (well, not like, it WAS bumper boats - a lot of punts colliding into each other), and best left to the expert punters that day. I really liked Cambridge - its a really nice place, and I probably had a better time there than I did in Oxford when all was said and done. The UK definitely used up one of its 10 days of summer that day!
