Summing Up
There were things I would have liked to have done, which we didn't - might have been nice to see the Queen Mary at Long Beach (too far out of our way just for a look, and too expensive to stay at for our budget); Disneyland would have been nice, but that's for another time when we can do it properly rather than rush it; and William and I didn't know that Knott's Berry Farm, a Theme Park that has steam trains in it (as does Disneyland) was a lot more accessible for us than Disneyland would have and could have been a better price and experience option. But those are things for another time - Los Angeles is a city I no doubt will be back to in some form or another, and there are things I would happily do again next time. One would be visit the Endeavour once its in its new building, and another would be chase trains at Tehachapi on a normal busy day if ever given the chance and opportunity.
Los Angeles will be remembered for our trip for marking the point where we got bad news from back home, and knew we had to cut our trip short. We arrived, finding out something was up; we spent the entirety of our time in LA not sure how serious or not it might be, getting messages every so often painting a slightly worse picture until the end of our time there when we got the call to go home. Next time, hopefully we can enjoy LA to its fullest for what it has to offer - whatever that might prove to be!
