Day 1 - York
I'd already been to the National Railway Museum once before. Why was I dragging Sasha to somewhere I'd already been? the answer was quite simple - the Flying Scotsman was on exhibit in the museum.
Day 2 - Yorkshire
Summing Up
So York - you were rather nice to visit, yes we could have stayed longer and done more stuff but I feel like we did the main things and certainly had a good time. If I ever visit York again, a visit to the Shambles and also the Trembling Madness would be very high up on my list of things to do, or list of recommendations for people to do! I am also glad I got to see Scarborough, however brief - there was probably half a day's worth of interesting things to do there, but I can definitely see it would be a place to avoid in the height of summer. As would be Whitby, which yes was very nice and cute - for some reason I felt like Whitby didn't quite live up to the height of what I had been told about it, but then I suppose it is a nice place in UK terms as everything is relative! The North Yorkshire Moors Railway - I can see what people are on about, its quite a decent railway set-up and a slick railway operation. I will reserve judgement on which is "better", the NYMR or the SVR - but at this stage I feel like the SVR has better photo opportunities and nicer scenery. Overall though, York was by far the gem of this trip.
No time to sit around and rest though, there's still more adventuring to be done...
